High Five for Friday

I am linking up with From My Grey Desk again this week for my five favorite things.  I can definitely use a reminder of the good things that happened this past week after the HUGE curve ball the Air Force threw us on Monday.

    1.  Stingrays Pink in the Rink to benefit breast cancer.  We started the night off with a BBQ with our neighbors and then the four of us went to the hockey game.  We had a lot of fun!

even the ice was pink!

    2.  For some reason, when I find out my husband is deploying, my creativity comes shining through.  When I dropped him off for his last deployment, my first stop was Michael's.  I made a wreath for our front door and our wedding shadow box.  The other night, I worked on three pinterest inspired projects while my hot handsome husband was flying a night mission and I am very happy with the results.

    3.   My friends, especially my fellow military wives, have been such a great support system this week. They have let me bitch and cry and offered their love and support to me.   I am so grateful for all the wonderful ladies I have in my life.

    4.  My hot handsome husband and our beautiful fur baby were having a moment and I was lucky enough to capture a picture.

     5.  My favorite thing about this past week was the (very little) time I was able to spend with my hot handsome husband.  I truly cherish every single moment we have together.  I am going to miss that man!

I'm going to try my best to make the most of my weekend (although I am working most of it) and try my hardest not to console myself with cupcakes!  Wish me luck!

March Madness

...and no, I am not talking about basketball!  I am referring to my own March craziness!

I am so glad that February is over!  It was not a very good month for me.  My goal was to get out of my funk before the month was over and boy did I fail miserably.  It probably did not help that we received FOUR days notice about my hot handsome husband's deployment.  Talk about high stress levels in our house!

March is off to a rough start but I have big plans to change this month for the better.  This is going to be my total body transformation month (or so I am hoping)!

I have started the Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred on several occasions in the past but I have never actually successfully completed the full 30 days.  My goal this month is to finish the 30 Day Shred and get my body ready for bikini season!

But oh no, one goal is not enough for March!  I will also be running my first 10K at the end of the month.  I hope to be able to run the entire Cooper River Bridge Run without walking.  I am hoping the combination of training for the race and cross training with "the shred" will produce some changes in my body and my frame of mind.  Exercise boosts your mood, right?!

So, here's to a more positive month!

There is no better time to start the 30 day Shred than now...
